CLCC NEWS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CHAMBER ANNOUNCES NEW DIRECTOR: MERYL FISACKERLY
Columbus, Miss., - The Columbus Lowndes Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce Meryl Fisackerly as Director of Programs and Events. Fisackerly joins the Chamber to lead the organization’s planning and programming efforts. Fisackerly formerly worked in sales at Columbus Brick Company and donor relations at Palmer Home For Children. A native of Columbus, Fisackerly graduated from Columbus High School and Mississippi State University.
In her new capacity, Fisackerly will plan and execute existing programs currently produced by the CLCC ranging in focus on education, youth and adult leadership, military affairs and community development. The previous CLCC Director of Programs and Events, Emily McConnell, is now serving as Golden Triangle Development LINK Project Manager.
The Chamber is also adding a part-time staff member to the team. Ashley Gressett will serve as Chamber Coordinator and assist with office manager duties, digital marketing and social media. Gressett will continue to serve the community in her other role, owner of Books and Boards, a shop on Main Street in Downtown Columbus. Gressett is originally from Konahatta, Mississippi and found her way to Columbus after graduating from Mississippi College with a degree in Journalism.
CLCC President, Lisa James, completed her second year at the Institute of Organizational Management this past June, a four year program for chamber and association professionals that awards the IOM certification upon the completion of the four-year course.
“We have a well-rounded staff at the Chamber with diverse backgrounds bringing multiple talents to the Chamber,” said Joe Max Higgins, Jr., CEO of the Golden Triangle Development LINK. “With Lisa’s leadership, an additional part time staff member and Meryl’s experience, this team will continue to grow the chamber and strengthen its value.”
