COLUMBUS, Miss., Nov. 15, 2024– Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle received an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, the only hospital in Mississippi and one of only 12 hospitals in the United States to achieve straight As for the 26th consecutive time.
“We are incredibly proud to receive straight ‘A’s from The Leapfrog Group since 2012 and to be only one of 12 hospitals nationwide to do so,” said Rob Coleman, chief executive officer and administrator of Baptist Golden Triangle. “This recognition reflects our unwavering commitment to putting patient safety and quality first and is a testament to the excellence of our entire team, from nurses and doctors to support staff.”
The Leapfrog Group assigns grades from “A” to “F” based on more than 30 performance measures. These measures include a hospital’s ability to prevent errors and maintain strong safety systems. This grade reflects the hospital’s dedication to preventing errors, injuries, accidents and infections.
“Earning an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade for the 26th time is a major achievement for Baptist Golden Triangle,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “This grade shows the hard work and commitment of the hospital’s staff, clinicians and leadership in ensuring patient safety.”
The Leapfrog Group focuses its Hospital Safety Grade on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries, which kill more than 500 patients daily in the United States. The program undergoes peer review, ensures full transparency and is free to the public. The Leapfrog Group updates the grades twice a year, in the fall and spring.
