Columbus, MS – May 13, 2024 – The Columbus Lowndes Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the appointment of Carrie Martin as its new Director, effective June 3, 2024. Carrie brings a wealth of experience and community engagement to this pivotal role, having served as a top-producing real estate agent at Coldwell Banker West Realty and demonstrated leadership in various non-profit organizations.
Carrie has been an integral part of the Columbus community for years, actively contributing to initiatives like the Junior Auxiliary and the Hitching Lot Farmers Market. She has also been a Chamber of Commerce Ambassador since 2022, fostering relationships and promoting business growth within the area.
Ashleigh Guyton, Chair of the CLCC Executive Board, expressed enthusiasm about Carrie’s appointment, stating, “We are excited for Carrie to join the Columbus Lowndes Chamber of Commerce as our new Director. We believe Carrie will be a wonderful fit for this role due to her active community and Chamber involvement. We, as a board, are ready to embark on this new adventure as a stand-alone organization with Carrie as our director.”
In addition to welcoming Carrie as Director, the Columbus Lowndes Chamber of Commerce has completed the transition to operate independently from the Golden Triangle Development Link, an organization of which the CLCC has operated as a subsidiary for over a decade. Effective June 3rd, the Chamber will be located at the Columbus Visitors Bureau, situated at 117 3rd Street South, Columbus, MS 39701.
Reflecting on her new position, Carrie Martin shared her excitement, stating, “I am thrilled to lead this organization into a new era and collaborate with our members to achieve our goals.” She added, “It is an honor to have been chosen as Director, and I am eager to serve and support our community.”
