Columbus, Mississippi – The Columbus Lowndes Chamber of Commerce (CLCC) has begun the search to find a new director.
Amidst this period of transition, the Chamber of Commerce is also in the process of relocating to The Columbus Visitors Bureau (CVB) situated at 117 3rd Street South. A collaborative agreement has been reached between the CVB board and the CLCC board for the CLCC to lease office space within the CVB premises. Throughout this transition, the Golden Triangle Development Link will oversee the development of the chamber as an independent entity.
In the interim, Katie Fenstermacher, CLCC Programs and Events Director, has assumed the role of interim director and will continue to support the Chamber during this pivotal period. Upon the appointment of a new director and the completion of the relocation to the CVB, Fenstermacher will transition into a new role at the Golden Triangle
Development Link.
In anticipation of the impending transition, Joe Max Higgins, Jr., Chief Executive Officer of the Golden Triangle Development Link, expressed, “This move has been a goal for the Chamber for some time now, and we believe it’s a wise decision. It’s the ideal moment to introduce new leadership to steer this organization forward. Remaining centrally located in the heart of Columbus will hopefully open the door for new partnerships.”
Individuals interested in applying for the director position are encouraged to submit their resumes to Meryl Fisackerly at mfisackerly@gtrlink.org.
