Columbus, Miss., - The Columbus Lowndes Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce Cathryn Borer as the new Chamber Director. Prior to joining the Chamber, she was employed at Annunciation Catholic School as the Testing Coordinator.

“I’m thrilled for the opportunity to connect with my community through an organization that makes such a positive impact on the place we call home,” said Borer. “I can’t wait to work with our existing membership on the awesome programs we have and recruit new members to join the effort.”

Working with the CLCC Board of Directors and Chamber volunteers, Borer’s duties will include membership recruitment and retention, public relations, programming and organizational administration of the Chamber. The Columbus Lowndes Chamber of Commerce represents approximately 450 businesses that employ more than 5,000 community members.

“So much of the Chamber’s programming efforts involve military and education sectors, both of which Cathryn has extensive experience with,” said Joe Max Higgins, CEO of the Golden Triangle Development LINK, the oversight organization of the CLCC. “Her enthusiasm for bringing value to the membership and new ideas are going to be great for the Chamber.”

Borer has both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Mississippi University for Women. Her professional experience has been mainly in the education sector and she comes to the Chamber with a lengthy history of community involvement and volunteerism.

She is married to USAF Lieutenant Colonel Luke Borer and they have two sons William (11) and Henry (9).

The Mission of the Columbus Lowndes Chamber of Commerce is to promote a favorable business climate and increase membership value for our Chamber members through a cooperative, community effort.
