SURGE Soft Skills Online Learning Launched

STARKVILLE, MISSISSIPPI, February 10, 2020 – Surge Advisors, LLC has successfully launched its new SURGE Soft Skills online learning management system to help healthcare, nonprofit, and business organizations efficiently [EG1] train their leaders and staff.

“Organizations are needing an easy-to-use and cost-effective way to develop leaders and their workforce,” said Christie Jones Lawrence, president and chief consultant for Surge Advisors.  “As budgets get squeezed, training is an area that often gets cut, but organizations still need to provide training to ensure a safe work environment and to be compliant with regulations.  Our SURGE Soft Skills platform offers 24/7 training capabilities via any web-enabled device at a very affordable price.”

The online learning platform is SCORM  (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) compliant, has Tier 4 data security, is HIPAA compliant, monitors student progress, and provides transcript maintenance.  Users have access to courses, based upon their roles, with easy navigation that lets them playback, pause, or resume online sessions upon sign-in from anywhere.  Users must pass a 10-question quiz before they can download a course completion certificate.

The SURGE Soft Skills library will offer 100+ courses in the following categories:  adult learning & personal growth, customer service, human resources & safety, leadership & management, marketing & public relations, operations & administration, quality performance improvement, population health management, and software & technology.  Courses are purchased a la carte´ or in bundles and/or grouped together in a training bundle based on an organization’s needs. 

Currently, SURGE Soft Skills offers a healthcare annual training bundle which consists of the following eight (8) courses:

  1. Back Safety:  Preventing Injury at Work
  2.  Child Abuse & Prevention in the Healthcare Environment
  3.  Emergency Preparedness
  4.  Fire Safety for Healthcare Workers
  5.  HIPAA
  6.  Infectious Disease & Bloodborne Pathogens
  7.  Medicare – Fraud, Waste & Abuse Prevention
  8.  Sexual Harassment

Course content has been developed by Surge Advisors’ team of subject matter experts who have extensive healthcare and nonprofit leadership experience and are certified human resource managers, public relations professionals, and healthcare executives.  Mrs. Lawrence is also a member of The John Maxwell Team and licensed to utilize and conduct leadership training using John Maxwell’s leadership course material.

Courses owned and already being utilized by clients can also be hosted in the SURGE Soft Skills platform, and Surge Advisors will work with clients to customize existing courses and/or create new courses to fit the needs of an organization.  Continuing education credits are not currently available, but users may submit the detailed course description along with their course completion certificate to governing bodies for possible credit.
