FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Wilson Beck Hired as CLCC Director

Columbus, Miss., - The Columbus Lowndes Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce Wilson Beck as the new Chamber Director. Prior to joining the Chamber, he was employed at Zachary’s Restaurant in Downtown Columbus as General Manager.

“The experience I have obtained serving this city through the years has provided me with a skill set that I feel perfectly fits the Chamber’s mission of Connect, Support, Grow. I will be a strong voice for business in Lowndes County” said Beck. “I am excited to meet all of the current members and carry on the stellar reputation set by Lisa James and her management of the Columbus Lowndes Chamber of Commerce.”

The former Chamber Director, Lisa James, is relocating to Texas with her husband as he continues his career as a pilot for the US Air Force.

Working with the CLCC Board of Directors and Chamber volunteers, Beck’s duties include membership recruitment and retention, public relations, programming, and organizational administration of the Chamber. The Columbus Lowndes Chamber of Commerce represents approximately 500 businesses that employ more than 5,000 community members.

“My goal is simple; use this platform for retention and recruitment,” said Beck. “I plan to accomplish that with good old fashioned kindness, honesty, and hard work. Any associate or friend will agree I am a “roll up my sleeves and get it done” kind of person. That ethic has landed me here and I am humbled and incredibly honored to be the new director of this organization."

“Wilson has been a major asset to Doug and the Zachary’s team, and we see great potential in his transition to the Chamber,” said Joe Max Higgins, CEO of the Golden Triangle Development LINK, the oversight organization of the CLCC. “He has great energy and has experience as a Chamber member that will serve the membership well.”

Beck has an Associate Degree from Itawamba Community College in Business and Marketing. At Zachary’s, he led the company to record-breaking revenue milestones over $1 million annually. Prior to Zachary’s Restaurant, Beck has worked with Ashley Furniture and BancorpSouth.

He is married to Lindsey Beck and they have two sons, Avery (3) and Asher (2 months).
