Founded by a proud local Air Force veteran, Edwin Bridges expressed the mission of the newly renovated property at the first event on February 8, 2025. The Greek Community Mixer was hosted by Bridges, and it was open to the public with guests from the Divine 9 (fraternity and sorority groups) and community leaders which consisted of retired schoolteachers, realtors, insurance agents, attorneys, physicians, and a host of professionals who were eager to see what the venue offers.
The goal to strengthen family ties and build community bonds has become the focus for the business. On February 15th, Bridges hosted his second event inviting singles and couples to an evening of engagement through conversations about the 5 Love Languages. Guests were able to share their experiences about love. Bruce and Janie Johnson, business owners of Columbus Lock and Key were among those in the round table discussion.
From supporting well-being to fostering small group development, The Gathering Place is dedicated to bringing people together for life’s meaningful moments.
On Thursday February 20th at 5pm the Trailblazers of Columbus event will highlight remarkable individuals shaping our community, featuring District Attorney Scott Colom and Mrs. Laverne Greene-Leech, the founder of R.E. Hunt Museum.
The Gathering Place also partners with local residents and organizations to create memorable events that support the community and bring joy to those involved.
